How to apply

A clear step-by-step process from preparing your documentation to completing the application and the subsequent university pre-registration.

1. Prepare your documents

Make sure you have all the required documentation ready before submitting your application.

2. Submit your application

Complete the application form and upload the required documentation in PDF files.

* Please keep in mind that the application is not saved until the end, i.e. until you reach the confirmation page.

Once you have finished, you will also receive a confirmation email, which includes a link to update the application if necessary.

3. Consortium selection

Applications are assessed through the MAIA consortium selection process.

A CV. Any format is acceptable, but we recommend using the Europass template.

03 — Certified copy of the university Bachelor's degree

Certified copy of the University Bachelor’s Degree with English translation* if necessary.

If you do not obtain your Bachelor’s degree by the application deadline, you must provide a certificate proving that you are registered in the last year of your Bachelor’s degree.

04 — Study transcripts

  • Certified copy of the academic transcripts with English translation*.
  • Certificate issued by the home university that allows admission to postgraduate studies.

*Note that, at the selection stage, certified copies are not compulsory (a copy without certification is sufficient). Likewise, translated documents are not necessary as long as the original documents are written in English, Spanish or Catalan.

05 — Proof of English language proficiency

See the FAQ section for the English tests accepted.

06 — Valid ID document and/or passport

A copy of a valid ID document and/or passport.

07 — Passport-size photograph

Current passport-size photograph.

08 — Two referees

Two names of referees and their addresses.

Preferably from the University or Institute that awarded the first degree. They will be requested to fill in an evaluation form and send a letter of recommendation.

Certification and translations

At the selection stage, certified copies are not compulsory. A copy without certification is sufficient.

Translated documents are not necessary as long as the original documents are written in English, Spanish or Catalan.

Important

Incomplete applications will not be taken into consideration. Read carefully the list of documents and make sure you attach everything to your application, including translations.

You can save the form once filled out and submit the documentation afterwards, but before the deadline.

No document may be sent by post or email at this stage.

Appeals Procedure

Please read the Selection Criteria as well as the Application Procedure carefully before submitting an appeal:

  • Candidates who fail to provide the required documents within the established timeframe may not submit an appeal.

  • Candidates who followed the Application Procedure and respected the Deadlines but were denied selection due to unmet Selection Criteria and have reasons to believe that a mistake has been made during the selection procedure have the right to appeal the Selection Board’s decision.

How to Submit an Appeal

The appeal procedure is concerned with how your proposal was handled in the evaluation and eligibility-checking process. It is not an automatic re-evaluation. Please note that new information or clarifications that should have been in the proposal will not be taken into consideration.

If after reading the above mentioned conditions you still have reasons to believe that a mistake has been made, please send an email to info@maiamaster.org explaining your claims within 15 days after the notification date. We will evaluate your case individually and notify you as soon as a decision has been made.
